Desert Foothills Lutheran Church and Pre-School's Ninth Annual Book Sale

PHOENIX — The five-member Arizona Game and Fish Commission recently changed how and Desert Foothills Lutheran Church and Pre-School will be holding its Ninth Annual Book Sale on Friday, February 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Saturday, February 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, February 14 from 10 a.m. to Noon at 29305 North Scottsdale Road in the fellowship hall. Please plan on stopping by the sale to pick up your reading supply for the long summer ahead. You will have tens of thousands of books to choose from, including paper backs, hard backs, cook books, children’s books, audio books, videos and DVDs. On Sunday we will once again be offering our “fill a bag” for $10 clearance sale. Everything you can fit in a paper grocery bag is only $10.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit our outreach programs, which enables DFLC to better serve the needs of our community as well as providing much needed financial assistance to establish local groups through grants which help them fulfill their missions. In addition, a majority of the books that remain after the sale are made available to local community service groups for distribution to shelters, homes and care facilities across the valley. In the past nine years some of the organizations we have provided donations and/or financial support to include: Foothills Caring Corp, Foothills Food Bank, Cave Creek Library, Central Arizona Shelter Services, Devereux Arizona, Habitat for Humanity and Vista Colina Emergency Family Shelter In preparation for the Book Sale, Desert Foothills is still accepting donations from the public of gently used paperbacks, hardbacks, puzzles and audio books. Donations can be dropped off at the church between 9 – 4 weekdays.

Please contact Dwayne Richard at 480.710.2403 for more information or for assistance in picking up any donations.
