Students can now sign up to host winter Red Cross blood drives and become eligible for scholarships

SALT LAKE CITY – This winter high school and college students can help save lives and be eligible to win a scholarship of up to $2,500 by hosting an American Red Cross blood drive. Registration is now open through Nov. 15 to host drives between Dec. 15, 2015, and Jan. 15, 2016.

Rally Point Arizona will host its 2nd Annual22 for the 22” March and Candlelight Walk

PHOENIX/Tempe – Rally Point Arizona will host its 2nd Annual “22 for the 22” March and Candlelight Walk, an event that honors the men and women who have bravely served our country, and to raise awareness of the 22 Veteran suicides that occur in our country every day. 22 Veterans will road march 22 miles across Phoenix and into Tempe to raise awareness and funds for the overwhelming number of Veterans in Arizona in crisis and in need of our services. The march will begin early on the morning of November 7th and culminate at Tempe Arts Park at approximately 4:30 p.m.

All day, all night Halloween event Cave Creek Wicked is October 31

Cave Creek Wicked, Arizona’s only all day, all night Halloween event, will be held on Saturday, October 31. The family-friendly, daytime portion of the event runs from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. while the evening costume contest pub crawl runs from 7 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Local DAR pays tribute to National DAR Day of Service

Scottsdale-chartered Grand Canyon Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) participated in a special service project Sunday, October 11 at Mary Ellen’s Place to honor the society’s National Day of Service, joining a DAR coast to coast celebration of the 125th anniversary of the founding of DAR and its commitment to local community outreach.

2015 Hope For Horses Gala review

A big note of thanks to all of our volunteers, adopters, and supporters who came out to join us on Saturday, October 3 at the Carefree Resort and Conference Center for the Hope for Horses Gala. 

Through our silent and live auctions, our wine toss and the 50/50 raffle, we raised approximately $14,000.00 to continue to care for our horses.

Go behind the scenes at the Arizona Game and Fish Wildlife Center Nov. 21-22

PHOENIX -- Only once a year, the Arizona Game and Fish Department opens its Wildlife Center to the public. This year come see a bald eagle, bobcat, ringtail, and many bird and reptile species on Saturday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 22 from 10-3 p.m. daily. The event is free and perfect for the whole family.

Visitors will get a glimpse into the center’s operations, see wildlife up close, view educational displays, make wildlife-related crafts and meet wildlife experts.
