Smithsonian Museum Day

Smithsonian Museum Day is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian Magazine. Admission to the Museum is free on this day from 1 – 4 p.m. Simply register for an account with Smithsonian and download a ticket (for two) through the Smithsonian Magazine website. If you are a 2015-2016 museum member, you do not need a ticket.

Arizona Game and Fish’s Heritage grants deadline is only days away

$432,000 available for wildlife-focused projects

PHOENIX – The Arizona Game and Fish Department’s popular Heritage grants application cycle will be closing soon: Applications must be received by Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. MST.

The grants are supported by revenue from Arizona Lottery sales and are available to projects that focus on wildlife, including wildlife education, schoolyard habitats and wildlife conservation efforts.

Daisy Mountain Fire Department to host Public Safety Day in partnership with Maricopa County Sherriff and Honor Health

Daisy Mountain Fire Department (DMFD) will host the 4th Annual Public Safety Day on Saturday, October 10 at Desert View Bible Church located at 105 W Carefree Hwy, Phoenix, AZ 85086, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Come and see police and fire demonstrations including a simulated car crash extrication, K9 demonstration, helicopter operations by MCSO and Air Evac and much more. See fire engines, a ladder truck and police cars.

Scottsdale Concert Band Oct. 11 Concert

The Scottsdale Concert Band, one of the oldest performing-arts groups in Scottsdale, will open its 38th season with a free concert at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, titled “Portraits of America.”

The concert will take place at the Saguaro High School Auditorium, 6250 N. 82nd St., Scottsdale.

Non-profit organization looking for community area representatives to join our international team

ASSE International Student Exchange Programs is seeking individuals to serve as Area Representatives in your local community.  ASSE provides academic year and semester exchange programs in the United States for high school students from around the world.  Students are 15 to 18 years of age, have passed a series of academic and character requirements and are awaiting an opportunity to embark on their American Adventure.
