Miss Arizona to compete for National American Miss American title at Disneyland Thanksgiving week

SCOTTSDALE – Miss Zoephia Peyton Decker-Knealing, daughter of Dr. Shannon Decker and Mr. Terry Knealing, has earned the prestigious title of the 2015 National American Miss Arizona at the state pageant held July 2015. She will be attending the National Pageant to be held in Anaheim, California at Disneyland during Thanksgiving week, representing the great state of Arizona, where she will have the opportunity to win her share of over $500,000 in cash and prizes!

Anthem's Kylie McKenzie's U.S. Open run ends in Quarterfinals

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Anthem’s unseeded Kylie McKenzie had her U.S. Open Junior singles run end on Friday as she fell in the quarterfinals to No. 11-seed Fanny Stollar of Hungary in three sets at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

“It was a great run, and I had an incredible experience here,” said McKenzie, 16, a USTA wild-card selection who lost the match, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. “I had my chances there in the third set. I’m happy with the way I played and will just learn from this experience.”

Soroptimist Spaghetti Dinner October 13

Soroptimist International of Saguaro Foothills cordially invites you to join us for our 38th Annual Spaghetti Dinner, October 13 from 5 – 8:30 p.m. For the past 13 years, Harold’s Corral Restaurant has provided an amazing dinner which includes spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, coffee, tea and lemonade. Your servers will be our own S Club members from Cactus Shadows High School. Adult tickets are $15 and children are $7. Children under 5 years of age are free with a paid adult ticket. World-Renowned artist carves Enchanted Pumpkin Garden October 16 – 31

CAREFREE – Halloween spirit invades Carefree in the form of whimsical pumpkin carvings from master carver Ray Villafane. The Enchanted Pumpkin Garden is open to the public and woven throughout the Carefree Desert Gardens. The display runs October 16-31, 8 a.m. – 9 p.m., 101 Easy Street, Carefree.

Car show to benefit Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center

CAVE CREEK – On Saturday, October 17, the fifth Tatum Ranch Car Show will take place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Tatum Ranch Golf Club, which is located at 29888 N. Tatum Ranch Drive in Cave Creek, Ariz. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations and cash to benefit the Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center.

Cave Creek Museum Re-opens for the Season on Thurs., Oct. 1

Free admission on Sept. 26 during Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day

CAVE CREEK – Cave Creek Museum re-opens for the season on Thurs., Oct. 1. Located at 6140 Skyline Drive, the Museum features an extensive collection of prehistoric and historic artifacts that describe the lives of Native Americans, miners, ranchers and pioneers.

The public will have a special chance to preview exhibits on Sat., Sept. 26 during the free national Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day. The celebration takes place from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. followed by a special Pre-season member’s reception from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
