Make a positive difference for residents in assisted living and nursing homes– volunteer

PHOENIX – The Ombudsman program of Area Agency on Aging, Region One is looking for caring volunteers to visit long-term care facilities and advocate for resident rights.

Volunteer Ombudsman are trained to:
• Identify and investigate complaints
• Provide information to residents about long-term care services
• Educate and inform residents, facility staff, families and others about resident rights
• Promote the develope of resident and family councils
• Advocate for changes to improve residents’ quality of life and care

Volunteers will take part in a comprehensive and in-the-field training and receive support from the Ombudsman staff.

The Area Agency on Aging, Region One plans, develops and delivers services for seniors (60 years and older) and adults (18 and older) with disabilities and long-term care needs and adults (18 and older) diagnosed with HIV.
