Even Hunter Douglas took note of its success and invited owner Phil Igneri (r) and his team at PSI Window Coverings to weigh in as to how the company might improve its business. At a roundtable discussion in California, the PSI team helped come up with “Trade Alliance,” a program currently used nationwide, that brings designers and providers together for the best interest of their customers.

Though an astute businessman, Igneri admits he was a little behind the curve when it came to technology. He was certain his customers weren’t ones to embrace it. Once he learned otherwise, he changed his mind-set and recently acquired a new QR code and updated his website to

This admission is a bit surprising given Igneri long ago partnered with Desert Valley Audio Visual, who now offers a home integration system – Control4. Many fans of Hunter Douglas may know the company automates its blinds, so this technology is truly becoming commonplace. If you’re not automated, go see PSI (7255 E. Adobe Dr.) to learn how blinds can be opened and closed, raised and lowered with the push of a button or flick of a switch.

Igneri knows consumers have a choice when it comes to blinds, shades and shutters, and he wishes his competition well. Being in the industry so long, he hears things. Igneri chuckled when he learned a competitor of his at one time had its shutters made in prison! Another opted to go to China to make its motors. Yet another decided to use high-end components from Lutron, which subsequently commits clients to dealing only with Lutron should a problem arise.
At PSI, they don’t play games, they don’t cut corners. It’s that integrity that keeps PSI as a leading dealer of Hunter Douglas products. (And one of two locally that offers the Right Choice exchange program.)

By the end of summer, the PSI Window Coverings showroom will be renovated and updated, so visit and see how you can renovate and update your own abode.
