Payson Bear Cub finds her Forever Home

Bookmark and Share

bearA short update on the little bear cub that arrived at Southwest Wildlife last year with a broken leg after being struck by a car near Payson. She recovered well in her secluded and quiet home here at Southwest Wildlife. Our hopes were that she would be releasable, to once again roam free in the wild. Unfortunately, this little bear cub was not proving to be a good candidate for release with her lack of fearfulness towards people.

So earlier this year, she found her forever home at the Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson, AZ. She is well loved there and has been named Strawberry.  We are so glad that Strawberry is doing well in her home and we wish her the very best!
