James Chapman Caldwell

james chapman caldwellJames Chapman Caldwell passed away peacefully at age 73, on June 8, 2015.  James was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. 

Survived by his loving wife, Donna Jean of 52 years, sons John (wife Wendy), Bill (wife Anje), four grandchildren (Charlotte, Emma, Sutton and Ella), and two sisters, Mary and Ginger. 

Born in Houston, Texas, James came with his family to Peoria, Arizona in 1954 and remained here until his passing.  James was an avid soccer fan and fly fisherman.  After receiving a heart transplant in 1990, James passion turned towards mentoring new transplant recipients.  A produce industry veteran of 35 years in Phoenix, James worked for United Produce, Harbor Banana, Associated Grocers and Amex Distributing before starting his own produce brokerage in 1980 and retiring in 2005. 

Our lives have been immensely enriched by knowing James.  James will be greatly missed by all those lives he touched along his journey.  We will miss him greatly. 

A memorial service will be held at Messenger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, 8555 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 3 p.m., reception to follow at Messenger.  The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations in the name of James Caldwell can be made to Hospice of the Valley or The Donor Network of Arizona.
