Hello Library Families & visitors:
Welcome to summer fun at the library! We have events for a variety of ages and interests. Whether you like art, history, crafts, or physical fun- we have got you covered!

Teens might even get excited by some of the contests we are offering this summer. Call us at 480-488-2286 to register for the programs listed here!

SUMMER READING PROGRAM
June 1 to July 31 -- Youth ages 2-18 & adults are encouraged to read & win prizes!

Register online and track your reading.

1 minute = 1 online point. Points accumulate & you earn prizes.

Prizes include Chipotle coupons for all ages, or DQ coupons(pre-readers), free books for all ages, items from the treasure chest, pre-reader prizes, & weekly drawings for teens.

A paper version of the reading record is available in the library for families who do not want to track their reading time online. Children may be read to by a caregiver or family member, read by themselves or listen to an audiobook.

Teens who submit 5 book reviews (pick up the form in the teen room) or earn 600 points online, can enter a drawing for a free Nook tablet!

Programs for Toddlers to Tweens
Civil War Activities for Kids (ages 6-11) with educator Miss Tammy. Learn about Civil War eagle Old Abe and live like a Civil War soldier by eating period food & learn about the life of a soldier & more! June 1, 1:30-3pm

Boom Bah Music Program (ages 4-8) Science, music and art activities. 6 Interactive stations to explore with performer & educator Miss Tammy June 2, 10:30-11:30am

Superhero Training (ages 3-PreK)
Literacy, art, & obstacle course activities followed by a snack & photo opportunities. This is our big preschool event of the summer! Bring your cameras! June 10, 10:30am -Noon

Super Hero Mask Making
Kids ages 6-11 can make a
superhero mask with artist Connie Galleener. June 11, 2-3pm

Playaways available!
Kids audiobooks have been upgraded to include a new format called Playaways!
Books can be checked out separately. Ask the youth librarian for help.

Free Spanish classes
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10-Noon
June 9 to July 30. Call to register as space is limited to 15 people. Experienced teacher with established curriculum. Special funding for this class has been provided by the Good Shepherd of the Hills Church.

TEEN EVENTS
Teen T-Shirt Art Frenzy, ages 11-18
June 2, 1:30-3:15pm
Bring 2-3 clean T-shirts with you. Try out three ways to paint them.

Teen Art Workshop
Funky Junk Recycling Art with local artist

Ages 11-18
Silk Screen T-shirt Printing
June 26, 1:30pm
Red Rohall teaches teens about this unique and special way to express themselves. Each participant designs and prepares their own artwork and then prints a one-of-a-kind T-shirt using the Silkscreen Printing art form. Finished shirts are permanent, washable, & very colorful! Make a shirt and wear at Teen Night that same day! Ages 11-18

TEEN NIGHTS @ the LIBRARY
Fridays, June 19 & 26,
5-10pm. Ages 12-17.
Pizza & snacks; Altered Book craft presented by a local teen; Movies & more. Call to register.

Main library closes at 6pm. If you leave the library during the event, you must have a parent's permission slip. Pick up the permission slip at the library, or call to have it e-mailed to you.
