APS awards Scottsdale a six-figure rebate
Representatives from Arizona Public Service recently awarded the city a rebate check for $105,322 for Water Resources Division’s participation in APS’s Peak Solutions program. Peak Solutions is an electricity demand response program that encourages high-use customers to voluntarily reduce their electricity use during peak demand days in June, July and August. The city’s participation helps APS keep power generation costs lower for all customers while avoiding potential power outages during summer when system demand is highest. This was Scottsdale’s fifth of a 14-year commitment to participate in the program. To date, APS has awarded the city more than a half million dollars in Peak Solutions rebates, the highest amount rewarded to any municipality.
