apache sitgreaves national forestSPRINGERVILLE – The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests are looking for hardworking people for summer seasonal temporary jobs in several programs.  If interested in working on a team with dedicated folks who all pull together, work to achieve team commitments, and at the same time, have an enjoyable experience, the forests might have the job for you.

Current job announcements include temporary positions in clerical, engineering, range, recreation, trails, timber, and wildlife biology and are posted on www.fs.usda.gov/asnf.  The number and location of temporary positions to be filled will be dependent upon the individual Ranger District or Supervisors’ Office needs.  See the Office of Personnel Management website www.opm.gov for information on pay rates.

Applications can be submitted at any time during the year.  However, if employment is being sought for the 2015 spring/summer field season, it is recommended that applications be submitted as soon as possible. Apply on the USA Jobs website www.usajobs.gov prior to the due date.  Applicants are encouraged to apply for multiple locations on the forest they are interested in working on.

The announcements for these temporary positions are posted on the federal jobs website, USA Jobs: www.usajobs.gov.  Individual announcements have specific opening and closing dates. Not all vacancy announcements are available at the opening of this outreach period; it will take a short amount of time for vacancies to appear in USA Jobs. Check frequently for new listings.

Forest Service representatives will notify selected applicants by phone. Applicants not selected will be notified by e-mail via USAJobs.gov. Reporting dates will be negotiated by the supervisor and selected applicants will be contacted by Human Resource Management with confirmation.

For veterans, a copy of the DD-214 is required. If disabled and applying for special consideration under certain disability programs, proof of disability is also required.
