The holidays are around the corner, and Scottsdale has a variety of ways you can help make this time of year brighter for those in need.

Vista del Camino’s Adopt-a-Family Program assists families in need for Christmas through donations of food, gifts, gift cards or money.

The senior centers’ Adopt-a-Senior Program provides isolated, homebound seniors with personalized holiday packages that include grocery gift cards, postage stamps and small-size hygiene items.

The Paiute Neighborhood Center partners with various organizations to supply Christmas gifts to children. Items are especially needed for teens.

The Scottsdale Fire Department sponsors an annual toy drive to benefit the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots Program and the Paiute Neighborhood Center. The program runs Nov. 29 through Dec. 24. In addition:

A Ride for Toys event will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Scottsdale Towne Center, 15444 N. Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. Donate a new, unwrapped toy or youth gift and receive a ride in a fire truck.

Drop off new, unwrapped items at any Scottsdale Fire Station or the Public Safety Building, 8401 E. Indian School Road.
