According to a preliminary Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office report, witnesses said Naderer was a “volunteer night watchman” who guarded the property at night for Thorstenson, a long-time friend of his.

Friends and family members told MCSO Naderer had a history of serious heart problems.

MCSO patrol units initially responded to the call and contacted district detectives who resumed the investigation.

After speaking to witnesses and investigating the scene, MCSO said it appeared as though Naderer collapsed face down on the sidewalk sometime during the night before he was found by Thorstenson and his wife, Tracee.

MCSO Crime Lab technicians assisted with processing the scene and the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office subsequently responded to remove the body.

MCSO Public Information Officer Joaquin Enriquez said, “This case is pending the medical examiner’s report and continues to be an ongoing investigation at this time.”
