Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center partners with Foothills Caring Corps to assist seniors and homebound individuals
CAVE CREEK – The Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center is partnering with Foothills Caring Corps to assist seniors and individuals who are homebound. Caring Corps provides the Foothills Food Bank with the names and foods needed for homebound individuals. Food bank volunteers pack a monthly box which Caring Corps volunteers pick up and deliver to people in need.
The Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center provides emergency food, financial assistance and other life necessities and resources to individuals and families in the desert foothills, which encompasses a 180-square mile area that includes Cave Creek, Carefree, Anthem, Desert Hills, New River, north Scottsdale and north Phoenix. Food bank volunteers help those in need in a caring, nurturing environment filled with compassion, understanding and one-on-one attention.
Foothills Caring Corps is dedicated to promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for older residents throughout the community through a force of volunteers and staff who deliver services and support that provide access to basic needs such as food, medical care, and activities that promote physical, mental and emotional health.
The geographic services area includes North Scottsdale (85255 north of Bell Rd, 85262, 85266), Carefree (85377), Cave Creek (85327, 85331) and Carefree Highway to I-17 (85085, 85086). Their programs include In Home Services such as friendly visiting, mobile meals and caregiver relief and Transportation Services such as the van program, medical transportation and grocery shopping.
