Explore the National Styles of Humor
The humor of Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Laurel and Hardy and The Three Stooges is international in scope because it tends to be physical and not tied to language. But other forms of international humor are very much tied to time and place. In "National Styles of Humor," presenters and ASU English professors Don and Alleen Nilsen will compare and contrast various forms of humor including satire, urban legends and parodies. The free program, sponsored by the Arizona Humanities Council, is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the Granite Reef Senior Center, 1700 N. Granite Reef Road. Call 480-312-1700 for more information.
