The slate, who voted their boss Adam Trenk to the position of vice mayor, have promised “transparency” as one of the planks of their platform. We found this article the day after the council voted against APS:

Obama's green rut

President Obama's budget was released last week. Unsurprisingly, it calls for massive new taxes on the oil and gas industry and yet more subsidies for "renewables" like wind, solar, and biofuels.

It rescinds $4 billion in industry deductions and credits annually and takes approximately $8 billion from taxpayers to artificially prop up trendy, "green" energy firms.

Supreme Court will decide fate of checks and balances

President Obama’s January 2012 decision to unilaterally declare the Senate in recess and install three Members to the National Labor Relations Board stands as one of the most egregious usurpations of power in our history.

Using a purported power under the Constitution’s recess appointment clause, the President steamrolled the constitutional advice and consent process, seizing away the Senate’s confirmation duties.

Zimmerman case is no grounds for gun control

From the beginning, people who would ban all private guns if they could have used the George Zimmerman case to push their agenda. They push on two fronts: First, they argue that Zimmerman’s 2012 fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin, who had no gun, demonstrates that guns are an unmitigated evil. Second, the antigun lobby is using the case to agitate for the repeal of “stand your ground” laws, which are on the books in many states.
