I voted

Well the Cave Creek election is getting down to the wire. Sadly, one of the best candidates in the field was Steve LaMar who was voted out in the primary. Chances for a low information voter turnaround leading to a council majority were defeated when Shelley Anderson and Jim Bruce dropped out.

The common sense YES vote on Prop 459

Fellow Carefree Citizens, it is very imperative that you take the time to let your town council know your opinions. They are about to spend huge amounts of YOUR money, and take it away from reserves. The council will meet a 5 p.m. on May 7. The agenda will include a discussion and possible action on the 2013-2014 Town Budget. The action will be to accept or deny the 'bottom line' of the budget, which could have a large effect on town cash reserves.

Yes, Virginia, they really are ‘that’ stupid

After having spent many decades working, building businesses and careers and raising families, as so many other Americans have done, it has dawned on many of us, that maybe, just maybe, the typical political candidate, really doesn't become an expert immediately after being elected.  They may become more arrogant, but remain quite stupid.

The objective of gun control

The gun is currently the weapon of choice by most criminals.  The bomb is the weapon of choice of terrorists.  Is it possible to reduce crime or even terrorists acts by taking guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens?  If guns are confiscated from the law abiding citizen, will that open up another weapon for the terrorist in certain instances?
