CAVE CREEK – Proposition 459 is a referendum on Cave Creek’s Ordinance No. 02012-08, amending the zoning map to reflect two parcels located northwest of the intersection of Carefree Highway and Cave Creek Road between 54th and 53rd streets to be rezoned from Desert Rural (DR-89) to General Commercial.

Walgreen’s dumpster fire breaks out on breezy Tuesday afternoon

walgreens fireThankfully the lid was closed when a fire started in a nearly empty dumpster behind the Walgreen’s store located at 34402 N. Scottsdale Rd. at Terravita in Scottsdale on Tuesday. Phoenix dispatch called the Rural/Metro Carefree Fire Station. According to Captain Dennis Rohrman the Carefree truck was the first to arrive. When the dumpster lid was opened, flames shot into the air. The fire was quickly extinguished.   Photo by Mark Peagler
