Arizona Game and Fish Commission reaffirms support to transfer wolf management nationally to the states

PHOENIX – The Arizona Game and Fish Commission on March 20 unanimously voted to continue efforts to restore the Mexican wolf in Arizona and to support a Congressional letter to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s director, Dan Ashe, for the national delisting of grey wolves in the lower 48 states. The letter was sent by Senator Orrin Hatch and Representative Cynthia Loomis, while the Service reviews the recovery status of grey wolves nationwide and the species’ potential delisting.

Scottsdale DAR Holds Annual Awards Ceremony

SCOTTSDALE – The Grand Canyon Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution held their annual awards ceremony on Saturday, March 3 at Chaparral Suites in Scottsdale.  Awards were given for DAR Good Citizen, Outstanding Community Service, Women in the Arts Recognition Award, and to students who won the annual American History Essay Contest and Christopher Columbus Essay Contest.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – At the recently held Western Hunting and Conservation Expo (WHCE), hosted by the Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) and Sportsmen for Fish & Wildlife, $12,500 was raised to directly benefit the USA Shooting Team Training Program.

Cave Creek and Carefree’s 2013 Relay for Life

The only thing that feels better than taking a walk is taking a walk for a good cause.  On Saturday, April 20 hundreds of people will be taking part in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life – a relay celebration dedicated to those who have survived cancer, those fighting cancer or in memory of those we have lost to cancer.
