Scottsdale Bobcats Bowling Bonanza Dec. 7
Spectators are invited to attend the Scottsdale Bobcats Special Olympics Bowling Bonanza at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at AMF Frontier Lanes, 7300 E. Thomas Road.  The invitational includes teams from around the Valley. Bobcats bowling is just one of many programs for individuals with special needs available through Scottsdale’s Adapted Recreation Services.

Holiday Lights start Dec. 14 at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park
All Aboard for Arizona’s most unique holiday event!  Take a train ride through festive holiday lights and displays turning the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park into a winter wonderland. 
Opening night festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 14 and include a tree-lighting ceremony, entertainment and a visit from Santa.  Santa will be at the park through Sunday, Dec. 23.  Train and carousel rides are $2 each with children under three riding free with a paying adult.  Holiday Lights runs 6:30 to 9 p.m. nightly Friday, Dec. 14 through Saturday, Jan. 5 (excluding Dec. 24, 25, and 31). Meet Santa Dec. 8 at Jingle Hike
Enjoy a ho-ho-ho hike and a trail-side visit with the jolly old guy himself from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Pinnacle Peak Park, 26802 N. 102nd Way. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult who will also be on the trail with them. The hike is a self paced one mile round trip and the trail is steep in several sections so little legs may need extra time. There are no strollers or bikes allowed. Scottsdale Adult Sports winter league registration starts Dec. 6
Looking for something new to do this winter? Recreational sports leagues are a great opportunity to get out and get active with friends and co-workers.  Scottsdale’s winter 2013 team registration will take place for coed and men’s softball and kickball and 5 on 5 basketball starting Dec. 6 for residents and Dec. 7 for non-residents.
