Residents can review and comment on proposed bond projects

SCOTTSDALE – Should additional trailheads be built in Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve? What about improving Scottsdale’s traffic interchanges with the Loop 101 freeway? These and 19 other projects are being considered by the Scottsdale Bond Task Force as members update their 2012 recommendation to the Scottsdale City Council.

Volunteers needed

The Desert Awareness committee is looking for volunteers to help with the fourth grade program “DESERT REACH” beginning in January.

Our team brings the exciting hands-on desert awareness program right into the classroom. Since 2004, we have shared our fast paced, two hour program with over 4,000 fourth graders in the Cave Creek Unified School District.

Christmas tree permits still available

SPRINGERVILLE – Christmas tree permits are still available for people who want to cut their own tree from a national forest in Arizona. The cost for a permit is $15, and they are available at Big Five Sporting Goods stores across the state as well as from some Forest Service offices. Although more than 3,700 permits have been sold there are still permits available at Big Five locations.
