25th season of *free* Sunday A’Fair Outdoor Concerts opens on Jan. 15

SCOTTSDALE – Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts will open the 25th-anniversary season of Sunday A’Fair on Jan. 15 with free outdoor concerts by The Samba Project and Walt Richardson & The Peaceful Warriors from noon to 4 p.m.

Sunday A’Fair takes place in Scottsdale Civic Center Park next to Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts on selected Sundays from Jan. 15 to April 15. Guests are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs or picnic baskets and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of great entertainment. Each event features free outdoor concerts by the Valley’s top musicians along with fine arts and crafts, fun activities for children and families, and free admission to Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) courtesy of Lewis & Roca LLP. Delicious foods from the grill, snacks and cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks are also available for purchase.

Highlights of the 2012 Sunday A’Fair season include Peace & Community Day on Jan. 15; the AZ Rocks! Arizona Centennial Celebration on Feb. 12 featuring The Persuaders and Cold Shott and The Hurricane Horns; and the weekend-long OrigiNation: A Festival of Native Cultures on April 14–15, presented in conjunction with the 10th season of Native Trails and Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts’ Discovery Series exploring the arts of Australia and New Zealand.
