copper anvil awardPHOENIX - The Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau (GPCVB) is honored with a prestigious Copper Anvil Award. Recipients were Doug MacKenzie and Trish Hendrickson for their publicity/promotions campaign Deux par Deux -Le Petit Magazine, an international children's catalogue showcasing Phoenix and Arizona.

PRSA Phoenix established the award to encourage excellence in public relations and is regarded as one of the highest accolades. This year's awards ceremony was held at Hotel Valley Ho where public relations professionals gathered to honor the PRSA Phoenix Chapter winners.

"Winning this award encompasses the bureau's passion and efforts for promoting the city and encouraging travel to Phoenix," says Douglas MacKenzie, communications director for the GPCVB.

The event additionally assists PRSA in funding scholarships for Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University students interested in launching a public relations career. "We are fortunate to not only be recognized for our destination promotional efforts, but we continue to support our community and students interested in pursuing this career," says Trish Hendrickson, communications coordinator for the GPCVB.
