Transit route changes begin July 25

Four Scottsdale bus routes affected

SCOTTSDALE – Several service and/or route changes go into effect on 4 different bus routes in Scottsdale beginning Monday, July 25.  Transit riders are encouraged to double-check their route schedules before leaving for their destinations.
Here’s what changing:

Loloma Transit Station in downtown Scottsdale will be closed.  Routes 41 and 72 will no longer use Loloma Station as a transfer point.  Transfers will take place at intersections along the routes.  The Downtown and Neighborhood Trolley routes will still stop at Loloma, however public facilities will no longer be available.

Route 41 (Indian School) – Remains on Indian School Road and no longer stops at Loloma Station.  Minor scheduling changes were made to accommodate this change.

Route 72 (Scottsdale Road) – Remains on Scottsdale Road and no longer stops at Loloma Station.  Minor scheduling changes were made to accommodate this change.

Route 81 (Hayden Road) – the northern end of the route is being re-routed at 94th Street to Raintree Drive (instead of continuing to Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard,) to 83rd Place and Butherus Drive.  In addition, morning and afternoon weekday peak service is being reduced from 15 minute service to 30 minute service, allowing for continuous 30 minute service all day.  Trips beginning in the Scottsdale Airpark before 5 a.m. and after 11 p.m. will be eliminated.

Route 511 (Express Route) – Service on the northern section of the route is re-routed off of Loop 101 at Raintree Drive, instead of Scottsdale Road.  The route still ends at Scottsdale Airport.  These changes allow for the express bus to arrive approximately 8 minutes earlier.
These changes are a result of budget reductions for the city’s 2011-2012 fiscal year.  Additional route changes will be occurring in late October 2011.
