Secretary Bennett names Communications Director

PHOENIX – Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett today announced that he has named Matthew Roberts Director of Communications for the state office.

“Matt’s experience working with the media and in government will enhance our ability to inform the public on our steps to improve Arizona’s election process and other matters,” said Secretary Bennett.  “Making government efficient and accessible for all Arizonans is a top priority for me and Matt’s addition to our team will ensure that we can continue to communicate our efforts effectively.”

Roberts will coordinate public communications for the Secretary of State's Office, and will be a primary contact for media members seeking information on state elections, voter registration and other issues. Within state government, he'll also work with the Library and Archives division to ensure that state agencies and departments are taking proper care to preserve significant documents and other records.

“It is a distinct honor and privilege to join the Secretary of State’s team,” said Roberts.  “I’m looking forward to helping Secretary Bennett communicate with the media and public.  It’s exciting to have been given such a great opportunity to join with one of the state’s most respected elected officials in Ken Bennett.”

Matt Roberts joins the Secretary of State’s office after serving as the Communications Director for the Arizona Republican Party and two members of the New York State Senate.  He is a graduate of the State University of New York.  His wife, Colleen, two Chihuahua’s and cat live in Gilbert.
