SCOTTSDALE – Come to WestWorld of Scottsdale March 9 - 13, where top National and International horses and riders will compete for over $100,000 in cash and prizes over the five days of competition. This NRHA "A" rated event once again boasts its $70,000 added one-run Derby and two full slates of ancillary classes.

The Cactus Reining Classic is a 501(c) (3) non-profit whose goal is to elevate public awareness of the sport of reining and to encourage more people to compete, raise skill levels, educate the public, and encourage support of the World Equestrian Games in which Reining is the only western sport to be recognized.

The Maturity Challenge ... age is just a number baby
MaturityBrumley Management Group is pleased to announce that Cactus Reining Classic in Scottsdale, AZ; Reining By The Bay in Woodside, CA; and High Roller Reining Classic in Las Vegas, NV will all offer The Maturity Challenge, a showcase for horses age 7 years and older who have aged out of the existing Derby programs for the first time at all three 2011 events.

Horse Show Managing Producer, Amanda Brumley expressed her excitement over the addition of the new $10,000 Added Open and $5,000 Added Non Pro Maturity Challenge classes. "Our goal, as Reining event producers, is to provide events that cater to the needs of the Reining Horse Industry. Offering the Maturity Challenge allows horses who have aged out of the Derby competitions a place to continue to compete for significant prize money. Our intention is to grow the Maturity added money as the interest builds to support it. It is our hope that these efforts benefit not only the owners and riders, but the longevity of the horses as well."

Cactus Reining Classic and Reining By The Bay up the cuteness quotient
New for 2011, both Cactus Reining Classic and Reining By The Bay will host Short Stirrup 10 and under classes for Reining's Future Champions. A guaranteed crowd pleaser, this will be your chance to cheer on Reining's rising stars. Imagine the kids' suprise when they are asked to ride back into the arena for ribbons awarded to them by the NRHA's youngest $2 million dollar rider, Andrea Fappani. You'll want to have your camera handy for this one!

Arenus Performance and Conditioning Award

The award recognizes one horse whose conditioning enhances its stellar performance. The winner is selected by a panel of judges and is presented a $100 gift certificate in a special awards presentation and photo session. The award will be presented at Cactus Reining Classic, Reining By The Bay and High Roller Reining Classic.
