The Newcomers Club donates to Desert Foothills and St. Mary's Food Banks
Checks for $640 each were recently presented to the Desert Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center and St Mary's Food Bank. The money was raised from the sale of cookbooks, which contain favorite recipes of the members of the Newcomers Club. Since 2001, the club's donations to St. Mary's Food Bank have served 42,000 meals.
The Newcomers Club of Scottsdale is a social club that offers friendship and activities to all residents of the valley. In addition to the cookbook sales, the club has a 50/50 raffle at the monthly luncheons, and those monies are also donated to worthy organizations around the valley. The club invites interested persons to attend the monthly Get Acquainted Coffee, the third Friday or each month.
