Austin A. Foster, 28, passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 in Red Hook, N.Y. Austin has resided in Rhinebeck for 9 years and was most often seen with his constant companion Bear Dog. He was previously from Cave Creek, where he attended Foothills Academy.

He has worked as a farrier in the area for several years. Austin was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and sport shooting, as well as canoeing, kayaking, snowboarding and golf.

He was born Oct. 18, 1981 in Oceanside, Calif. He is survived by his mother Lisa Lee of Phoenix, and was predeceased by his father Stephen E. Foster. Also surviving are his siblings, Cody and his wife Ashley who are expecting Austin’s first niece; Felicia Lee; John and his wife Alice; Susan Colburn and her husband Joe; Marty Foster; his maternal grandparents Tycha and William Flickinger; Aunt and Uncle Todd and Nicole Flickinger; Aunt Cecilia Packham; nephews Miles and Aiden Nichols; his friend and confidant Meg Gallo; and many friends. He was predeceased by his brother Jason Foster.

Services will be held for Austin, Sunday, Oct. 17, 4:30 p.m. at Christ Church 35500 N. Cave Creek Rd. at New River Rd. Memorial donations may be made in Austin’s memory to an animal relief or rescue organization for dogs or horses. To sign online register please visit dapsonchestney.com.
