FAR announces new Executive Director!

We are very pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has hired an Executive Director, Linda Fitch who will begin her orientation Monday, Aug. 30.

FARLinda comes to Foothills Animal Rescue (FAR) with extensive experience and education in social welfare, teaching, nonprofit management, fiscal development, and community outreach. In her executive roles with Womanhaven and a regional branch of the American Cancer Society she honed her considerable skills in nonprofit business, executive leadership and supervision, program development and implementation, advocacy, public policy, board relations, community and coalition building and change management. She almost single handedly founded the Cancer Resource Center of the Desert. There she developed a cadre of hundreds of volunteers and donors while attaining a budget of $400,000 by the second year of operation.

Ms. Fitch incorporated into her resume an inspiring quote which captured our attention as it epitomizes FAR's growth, compliments our mission and will serve as further motivation for us all: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has." (Margaret Meade). Linda's extraordinary success in nonprofit and community work coupled with her reassuring people skills made her a clear choice over the almost two hundred Executive Director applicants reviewed during the rigorous search and interview process.

Please welcome a remarkably strong and competent executive leader who can raise FAR to exciting new levels within Maricopa County.
