FCFFCF kicks off fall with
old-fashioned football pep rally

Year-Long Event Schedule Features Keynote from Phoenix Suns’ Owner, Mindquest Lecture Series, Parent’s Nights Out and More

SCOTTSDALE – Foothills Community Foundation (FCF), a non-profit Desert Foothills organization providing resources for education, community service and cultural enrichment, released its 2010-2011 calendar of events and programs today. Events are hosted at FCF’s Holland Community Center located at the Black Mountain Campus, which serves as the hub of community activities for members and area residents.

In September, FCF will kick-off the season with a variety of events, including these highlights:

Old-Fashioned Community Football Pep Rally
Sunday, Sept. 12 (5:00 – 10:00 pm)
A spirited kick-off to the football season for community football teams, this event will feature performances by the Cactus Shadows High School band and cheerleading team, plus the first NFL game of the season will be shown on big screen TVs inside and outside. FCF members, parents, students and neighbors are invited to play old-fashioned carnival games and enjoy food and drinks. Admission is free and concessions will cost $1-$5.

FCF Night at Chase FieldTuesday, Sept. 21
(Game starts at 6:40 pm):
Join fellow FCF members at Chase Field as the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Colorado Rockies. Tickets can be purchased through FCF and range from $15 - $50.

Events are free or discounted for FCF members. By joining FCF, members are able to reserve conference rooms at the FCF-Holland Community Center, get advance notice about programs and events, receive special “members only” event invitations, get discounts at the Bad Donkey Café (located in the FCF-Holland Community Center) and more. Membership costs $35 per year for a college student, $60 per year for an individual adult and $120 per year for a family.

The 2010-2011 schedule features ongoing events for Desert Foothills residents of all ages, including Girl’s Nights Out, Wine Tastings, Desert Awareness programs, MindQuest Lecture Series, Scottsdale Healthcare wellness programs, among many others. Additionally, FCF’s Annual Meeting, which will be held on Thurs, Nov. 4, will feature a keynote from Robert Sarver, owner of the Phoenix Suns and supporter of FCF.
