For Cross Country:  “It’s all about team,” emphasizes Head Coach Patty Egan

CSHS – Far be it for me to argue “photo-ops” with Head Cross Country Coach Patty Egan, who has built one of the most successful high school programs in Arizona. At this early point in the Harriers’ season, Coach Egan asked that I not “shoot” individual  runners other than her three captains (see last issue) and three seniors to follow – when all three can be corralled!

“Yes,” she acknowledged to Sonoran News after Monday’s practice, “the Boys are young; but if they keep getting better, little by little, I’m confident they’ll do well by the end of our season.” And the Girls? I’m too admiring of Coach Egan to risk a potentially jinxing prediction. Nevertheless, she knows that I know her Ladies roster at least five runners who could finish Top Ten at State come early November. Sorry, Coach. That’s too exciting a prospect not to mention!
