A family photography affair

great horned owl nestValerie Willsey and her daughter Paige Abegg, age 16, took these photos of a family of Great Horned Owls over the past month.

This is the third or fourth year they have nested in the same saguaro a block away from their home located in the rural community of Rio Verde Foothills, two blocks from the Tonto National Forest.

great horned owl mom and babies in nestThe family has had an amazing experience watching the babies grow and venture out of their nest. They feel they have been blessed to witness such majestic birds in their natural habitat, raising their young owlets.
