CAREFREE – The Foothills Caring Corps invites the community to attend an open house celebration and ribbon cutting at their new location in downtown Carefree on Monday, April 12 from 4 – 6 p.m.

The non-profit agency that acts as support for older persons living independently recently moved to 7275 E. Easy St., from their former location at the Christ Anglican Church in Carefree.

The new, expanded headquarters allows the Caring Corps to keep up with the 21 percent increase in demand for services the agency has seen since last year by providing additional van transportation, in-home visits and hot, noon-time meal deliveries.

The open house takes place throughout the day. An afternoon celebration including light snacks, beverages, music and prize drawings begins at 4 p.m. The event is free, no RSVP is required. According to Caring Corps executive director Debbra Determan, the move to the expanded location was made possible because of patron support and the dedication of a loyal group of volunteers.

“As our demand for services grew, our community really stepped up to the plate. Our patrons generously gave their time, effort and monetary donations. Our volunteers also stepped up and put in more hours. The patrons and volunteers are priceless to our recipients and the organization,” Determan said.

The Foothills Caring Corps promotes physical, mental and emotional well-being for the older persons by meeting the needs of nearly 475 recipients throughout the Carefree, Cave Creek, Desert Hills, north Scottsdale and north Phoenix communities.

Referred to as “neighbors,” recipients receive a variety of services including in-home wellness checks, hot meal delivery, medical and van transportation, grocery shopping assistance, minor home repairs and caregiver relief.

The Foothills Caring Corps was established in 2000 and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization located at 7275 E. Easy Street, PO Box 831, Carefree, Arizona 85377. For information or to volunteer call 480-488-1105 or visit www.FoothillsCaringCorps.com.
