Page Spring Cellars Wine Tasting and bottle signing at C4

CAVE CREEK – C4 Martini & Wine Bar hosts a delectable wine tasting and bottle signing by Page Spring Cellars on Thursday, April 8 from 6 – 9 p.m. with an appearance by Eric Glomski. Guests are invited to sip back, relax and enjoy signature wine selections including Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Cabernet Pfeffer, Counoise, Cinsault, Viognier, Rousanne and Marsanne.

Currently in theatres, the movie titled, “Blood into Wine,” showcases Page Spring Cellars owners Maynard James Keenan, known as the front man for Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer and Eric Glomski (former David Bruce winemaker and current owner of the award-winning Page Springs Cellars) enduring the long road to bringing credibility and notoriety to Caduceus and Arizona Stronghold Vineyards amidst wine industry prejudice and the harsh Arizona terrain.

The cost is $10 per person or complimentary with bottle of wine purchase. C4 Martini & Wine Bar is located at 6033 E. Cave Creek Road in Cave Creek.

New Contemporary Art Film Series starts Tuesday, April 6

CAVE CREEK – If you are drawn to contemporary art and film, don’t miss the contemporary art film screening of “Herb and Dorothy,” presented by Desert Foothills Library and the Cave Creek Film & Arts Festival on Tues., April 6 at 6 p.m. at the library, 38443 N. School House Road in Cave Creek.


The film is part of a new contemporary film series offered by the two non-profit organizations.

“Herb and Dorothy” is the story of a postal clerk and a librarian who began to purchase minimalist and conceptual art in the early sixties and befriending and supporting world renowned artists such as Andy Warhol, Christo, Chuck Close. This ordinary couple of modest means managed to build one of the most important art collections in modern history.

Directed by first time filmmaker Megumi Sasaki, “Herb and Dorothy” has received numerous accolades including the Golden Starfish Award for the Best Documentary Film at the Hamptons Film Festival and Best of Fest at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

“The Cool School” will be shown on Tuesday, May 4 at 6 p.m. as part of the new film series at the library.

“The Cool School is the story of the Ferus Gallery, a small storefront in Los Angeles, which launched the careers of Robert Irwin, Ed Ruscha, Craig Kauffman, and many other significant post-war artists between 1957 and 1966. The gallery managed to bring together the many disparate ideas of assemblage art, abstract expressionism and Pop – something that museums previously could not do.

Judy Bruce, co-chair of the Cave Creek Film and Arts Festival visual arts committee said, "The Cave Creek Film and Arts Festival is delighted to partner with the Desert Foothills Library in presenting two documentaries on contemporary art in order to enhance the understanding and appreciation of cutting edge art work created in the past three decades.”
