saguaro grilleCAREFREE – For more than two years, fans of the Saguaro Grille have been treated to quality food, stellar service and a place that feels pretty much like home. The latter may be so since the eatery is truly a family affair. Neil and Kathy King, along with son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Theresa King, co-own and operate the restaurant.

And, check out the Web site www.saguarogrille.com; son and brother Danny King is Webmaster extraordinaire.

Saguaro Grille long ago established a following for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The proprietors concur that the best selling item on the menu is the burger. There's over a dozen different variations. "That includes the turkey and veggie burger," Kathy explained.

Steve added, "I had one customer tell me it was the best cheeseburger in the world!" He said the burgers bring a certain nostalgia from one's childhood. It's good, old-fashioned home-cooking. Literally! Steve is in his twenty-first year cooking professionally, having cultivated his passion at 14. He learned from his mom and grandmother. Steve still has his first Disney cookbook, from which he fondly recalled making Lady and the Tramp-style spaghetti and meatballs!

And today, Steve retains his enthusiasm for cooking and loves to hear comments from his patrons. Kathy does the marketing, and Neil handles the business aspect. They are all active in brainstorming for new ideas. From their kitchen laboratory, a new drink was founded: the Carefree Cooler; it's a summer sipper that's refreshing all year round.
Since the oppressive heat of summer is in the past, dinner will once again be served Wednesday through Saturday. Another customer favorite from the supper menu? The pulled pork platter.

There's a host of reasons why neighbors and out-of-towners should break bread at Saguaro Grille. From the chef side, Steve rattled off three, "High quality ingredients, generous portions and good pricing."

But there's more! There's a full bar serving beer, wine and cocktails. Take-out is available as well as local delivery through www.mobilewaitersNPH.com.

And who could resist the ice cream shoppe? Partake of old-fashioned sundaes, splits, shakes, smoothies, cups and cones. Families are encouraged to come in on Wednesday for family night when kids eat free from the children's menu with equal adult meals. Or on couple's night, enjoy one appetizer, two entrees, and share a dessert all for $25!
