Referendums certified for November ballot

Ballot pamphlet arguments for Walmart and CCUSD due Aug. 5
CAVE CREEK – Maricopa County Elections has certified both referendums, PRIZE in support of REF 2009-03 and PRIZE in support of REF 2009-04, challenging council’s approval of the major general plan amendment and rezoning applications for Walmart, to appear on the Nov. 3 ballot.

Based on a random sampling, the elections department disqualified only a few signatures, leaving both referendums with more than 200 percent of the signatures required.

Anyone interested in submitting a ballot statement either for or against either referendum, must submit them by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday Aug. 5.

Statements may not exceed 300 words, cost $50 each (Cave Creek Town Hall accepts cash, check, Visa and MasterCard) and must contain an original signature and, therefore, may only be submitted by mail or in person to:

Ballot arguments either for or against the CCUSD K-3 override on the Nov. 3 ballot are also due Wednesday Aug. 5.

There is no charge for submitting an argument. However the statement cannot exceed 200 words, must contain an original signature and, therefore, must be delivered either by mail or in person no later than 5 p.m. to the following address:
