CCUSD Prepares for Kiwanis Community Science Fair

Online application deadline for students Tuesday, January 20
At CCUSD, teachers, students, and Kiwanians are working hard to prepare for the 4th Kiwanis Community Science Fair. Last year, about 3,200 students submitted over 1,800 projects, of which 246 projects advanced to compete in the Tier 2 competition. Last year’s total participation was about 6 times greater than for the first year in 2006.

Cave Creek Museum’s Antique Appraisal Fair set for Jan. 23 & 24

CAVE CREEK – Could that landscape painting in the attic be worth something? What about those old dishes in the garage? During these tough economic times, consider searching for vintage items and antiques that may be valuable. Then head to Cave Creek Museum’s Antique Appraisal Fair from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan., 23 and Saturday, Jan., 24 where appraiser Sean Morton, of Scottsdale, will examine your treasures, discuss their origins, and assess their value. The fee is $20 per item or two items for $35, with a limit of two items per session. You may attend more than one session.

Foothills Academy Open House

Foothills Academy College Preparatory, an “Excelling” charter school, is celebrating its 16th year with an Open House for prospective students on Thursday, February 19th, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
This informative event is for students who are looking for a new school now or for next fall. Students along with their parents will have the opportunity to tour Foothills Academy, visit classrooms, meet students, teachers and administrators, ask questions, and discover why Foothills Academy may be just the right school for them.
Foothills Academy is accredited by the North Central Association and is one of only two “Excelling” charter schools in Scottsdale. Tuition free with a real sense of community and high academic achievement – that’s Foothills Academy.
Foothills Academy College Preparatory currently has limited space available in Grades 6 – 12.
