Coyote JoeCAVE CREEK – No one is looking forward to the up-coming Taste of Cave Creek more than local grill expert and television cooking personality Mad Coyote Joe.

“I love this project,” said the long-time Cave Creeker who earned more than his 15 minutes of fame when he was the star of the Sonoran Grill television cooking show from 1998 to 2002. Many Sonoran Grill segments were filmed in his Cave Creek backyard.

Second Annual Rootin' Tootin' Roundup just around the corner


Sept. 20 Western Night Benefits the Foothills Community Foundation

FCFCAREFREE – The Foothills Community Foundation invites the community to attend its second annual "Rootin' Tootin' Roundup," Saturday, Sept. 20, from 5 -11 p.m., at the Carefree Resort & Villas in Carefree.

The Roundup is a full western night of fun that supports the Foundation's non-profit programs including the Foothills Caring Corps, Desert Foothills Theater, MindQuest Lecture series and other efforts benefiting the arts, education and social services.

The evening includes a western cookout, a Wild West variety show, a Gamblin' and Horsin' Around corral and more. Tickets are $60 and include $100 worth of "wooden nickels" for gambling which can be used to bid on prizes at the end of the evening.

"Our second annual western-style fund-raising event has been designed so that attendees have a great evening of fun, and it's a terrific way for everyone to show their support, learn more about the Foundation and make some new friends," said FCF executive director Bre Ulewicz.
