CAVE CREEK – A new enterprise at Frontier Town will provide community information to visitors and locals alike by mid- next month when the Cave Creek Information Center becomes a reality.

The new center, which is being established by the Cave Creek Merchant’s Chamber of Commerce (CCMCC), will open on Wednesday, Sept. 17. A ribbon cutting for the new information center will take place at 6 p.m. The inaugural CCMCC Cave Creek After Dark event will also take place in Frontier Town that evening.

“I volunteered to do this because we need it,” she said. “It’s time we had an information center.”

She said the center “will be set up for locals” as well as visitors.

“We need a place for people to know what is going on event-wise and also with the parks and trails,” she said.

Cave Creek business people will be able to let others know what is going on with their business by placing information in a rack on the porch of the information center.

Maps of the area, including a topographical map, information about area attractions like the Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area and Bartlett Lake, and Cave Creek community events like Wild West Days, Fiesta Days and the Taste of Cave Creek will be available at the information center.

“The town has grown so much we need to promote the businesses and the events as much as we can,” Spino said. She will soon be visiting Cave Creek businesses to let them know about the new center.

CCMCC President Marc Peagler said the new center is “what Cave Creek has been in need of forever.” The Peagler family donated the Marshall’s Office to be used as the information center.

Peagler added it is important to get the new information center established before the 2008 Governor's Rural and Regional Development Conference, which will take place in Carefree the week after the center opens.

Spino will be in need of volunteers to help staff the information center Thursday - Sunday. Anyone who is interested, call her at 602-820-3588.
