International Artist Agnes Rathonyi at Harris Gallery reception Dec. 13
December 10, 2008
Evening includes perfomance by Nancy Gee
CAVE CREEK – The acclaimed, international works of artist Agnes Rathtonyi are now being shown at the Kevin Harris Gallery in Cave Creek. Rathtonyi, an award winning, unique visual artist, is a dynamic painter whose evocative works are filled with brilliant light and depth, bringing a sense of poetic inspiration. Born in Kecskernet, Hungary, with a degree from the Budapest University of Art, she also studied at the prestigious private art institute of Ido Monti in Venice, Italy. Choosing her works based on formal elements such as form and color, Rathonyi is fascinated by texture of paint and the shapes and movements it can make.
“My compositions contain intense distilled images, surfaces and objects that create confrontation between present and past. My paintings evolve independently from life’s daily memories.”
The Harris Gallery will present Agnes Rathonyi to the public on Saturday, Dec. 13 during an intimate holiday evening from 5-10 p.m.
The gallery will also be introducing the noteworthy and unique images of photographic artist Attila Rathonyi. The evening will also include a performance by Nancy Gee, a celebrated Valley jazz vocalist and winner of the prestigious 2008 Jazz in Arizona Lifetime Achievement Award.
Harris Gallery is located at 6501 E. Cave Creek Rd., the first drive east of Schoolhouse Rd. For more information call 480-437-9955.
