Pageant preparation underway

Volunteers were working feverishly putting up lights, building the stable and constructing the inn when Debbie Payne took this photo Monday. Their preparations will be complete in time for the 54th annual Desert Foothills Christmas Pageant, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6 and 7, at the entrance to Spur Cross Ranch. Pageant coordinator Toby Payne especially wants to thank members of the Kiwanis Club of Carefree for getting the pageant grounds ready for the two performances. The Christmas pageant is the retelling of the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. People are asked to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on when attending the free pageant.
