Bookfair to benefit Desert Foothills Community Education

PHOENIX – Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Desert Ridge are donating a percentage of net sales made Friday, Nov. 21, through Saturday, Nov. 29, to the Education Division of the Foothills Community Foundation in support of Desert Foothills Community Education programs in the Cave Creek Unified School District. Desert Foothills Community Education provides all age groups with opportunities to pursue their academic, creative, cultural and personal needs and interests.

BookfairBookfair vouchers are available on-line through the Foothills Community Foundation at www.azfcf.org, or at Desert Foothills Community Education Kid’s Club locations at Cave Creek Unified School District Elementary Schools: Horseshoe Trails, Desert Willow, Desert Sun, Black Mountain, and Lone Mountain. Anyone having trouble finding a voucher should call (480) 488-1090, as vouchers are not available at Barnes & Noble.

Bookfair special events, which are open to the public at no charge, include a Young Rembrandts Drawing Exhibition at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21; Child’s Play Learning Center Showcase at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22; Barnes & Noble Story Time at 11 a.m. on bookfair2Saturday, Nov. 22; the 4th Annual Writing & Drawing Contest Awards Ceremony at noon on Saturday, Nov. 22; and a performance by Desert Foothills Theater’s Gecko Teatro at noon on Sunday, Nov. 23.

The Bookfair is sponsored by The Education Division (PIE) of the Foothills Community Foundation and Barnes & Noble Desert Ridge.
