In the late 1950s the Richardson family owned
and operated a working horse and cattle ranch on
36,000 acres in the desert that is now North Scottsdale.
In 1970, the family started Old MacDonald’s Farm to give
the public a hands on approach to the ranch experience.

Community comes together for Empty Bowls

DESERT FOOTHILLS – Artists who work in clay and others who don’t mind getting their hands dirty for a good cause have been working feverishly for months making bowls to be sold at the Sonoran Arts League’s annual Empty Bowls fundraiser, which benefits the Foothills Food Bank.

Desert Foothills Theater’s New Season Begins Oct. 14 with “Broadway & Beyond” at Cave Creek Coffee Company


CAVE CREEK – When it comes to love, laughter, and inspiration, the directors, actors, and support staff of Desert Foothills Theater (DFT) know how to deliver. A program of the Foothills Community Foundation, DFT is embracing its 34th season with zeal as it prepares to entertain audiences with five Main Stage shows that include two romantic comedies, two one-woman shows, and a musical revue. The new season also includes a fall and spring theatricale, an Oscar Night event, a talent show, and a youth theater presentation.
