Patent easement subject of neighbors’ feud

During Monday night’s council meeting, Todd Gilson requested El Sendero Road between 50th and 51st streets be “reopened” for non-vehicular use. However, Town Engineer Wayne Anderson stated the easement was not needed by the town. Until last November, Lowell Relkin, on whose private property the easement is located, had an injunction against harassment against Gilson. Attorney Carol Lynn de Szendeffy (pictured), representing Relkin, told council, “This hasn’t been a road, ever. It does not connect to the trail system and has no purpose except to serve as one person’s personal agenda.” Council voted unanimously to continue the matter.

CAVE CREEK – Big Bronco Wild West Emporium owner Faith Weinberg threw a Western party last week that reflected the Old West nature of the business she has owned on Cave Creek Road for eight years.
“We get a lot of approval for this kind of event because of what we do – preserve the Old West,” she said. Tthe anniversary party featured singing cowboy Gary Sprague, his horse Dusty and a Dutch Oven cookout provided by the folks at the Buffalo Chip.
Weinberg always goes for a historic Old West theme at her events because that is her passion.
The Western hoedown Weinberg threw for her eighth anniversary was bigger and better than the seven previous ones, due largely to the major expansion the Western emporium/vintage store went through last year.
“The expansion is going great,” Weinberg said about nearly doubling the size of her store. “In this climate if you can keep going and meet all of your bills you are doing really good. The stellar years are yet to come.
